Sarum Consort

We are pleased to be able to offer a sample from our new CD, due to be released by Naxos in March 2011.

Working with the renowned lutenist Jacob Heringman, under the title All the Queen's Men, the Sarum Consort has drawn a musical picture of a royal progress of Queen Elizabeth I, as she descends with her enormous retinue on an unsuspecting noble household.

The disc includes the greatest of the 'Oriana' madrigals, as well as virtuoso lute solos and much else, together with our unique recording of Wilbye's Draw on Sweet Night with Jacob's freely improvised accompaniment.
